looks ok, any pics of the blade, reverse rivets? but on the above pics, looks like it should be a good clean hj
The hanger should really be black, as its dated late, it looks very brown in the pics which you should see on early say before 38 knives, ask to see how many runners in scabbard, should be two for a late knife, one single for early.

cheers Mike i will ask him and see if i can get anymore pics, the hanger is brown, i saw it last night but it looks nicer than in pics so made me worry a little, he told me this came from the vets daughter along with a few other items which the vet brought back from denmark in 46 , cheers Dave

always execptions to the rule, it wouldnt really concern me if it was a transitional dated knife 38/39 to have the brown hanger, could have been swapped way back when? could have just been an exception? may have been dyed/polished black??? thats an idea to think about perhaps and its lost it over the years.
Plenty of theories, however if it turns out as it looks to be original, thats what counts, but yes plenty of piccies, you can not have too many!
