ID of two swords needed

Here are a couple swords which are in a local museum which need proper identification. Any help would be greatly appreicated.

Is this a Japanese sword. This was brought back by a vet who brought back several other Japanese items.

The first sword looks like an Argentinean artillery sabre from the late nineteenth century.

Made in Germany by WKC who were prolific makers and exporters of edged weapons – South America being one of their largest markets.

The design is very common dating back to the Model 1811 Blucher sabre which itself is a copy of the British 1796 Light Cavalry sabre.

Originally the Argentine crest was on the blade but these were usually ground off when disposed of by the government.

The second sword is also of German origin. It is similar in design to the Kavallerie Degen 89 (M1889 Cavalry sword) – however the blade design is different as the official pattern had two fullers.

The coat of arms on the guard is I think that of Prussia although it is a little worn.

If the grip is made of bakelite then it is quite late – circa 1910-1914.
