    Estand Luftwaffe 2nd Model opinions...

    All,

Trying to get some opinions on this 2nd model Luftwaffe on the Estand.
Looks like a very clean 2nd pattern and the price seems pretty good but I havent wrote a book on daggers so opinions would be appreciated!
Normal points i.e. authenticity ok, all original/not parted together, good price, good seller, ect...

    Thanks gentlemen.

    Axel,
Looks to be a clean original Paul Weyersburg made dagger, it has the nice crossguard and the patina looks good. In the pictures you can not see if the blade has any crossgraining, but it might of been polished out from the start.
The fittings all go together well.
For $750 it is a fair dagger and hanger at a fair price. To be 100% on it being made of parts, you have to almost hold it in your hands and check all parts, but they appear to be all original. The only negative I can see, is it looks like the spring clip on the hanger has been sprung or it is slightly out of whack at the point the two pieces come together. The darker grips seem to be more desirable today, I am partial too the nice white grips.
At some point you have to give the seller some crediblilty as far as it not being a parts piece and this guy seems to have plenty, and the e-stand rules apply.
I just think it is a fair/average dagger at a fair/average price. For both pieces. I always add a little value when they have the acceptance stamp.
It looks like a dagger that a person would be happy with.

      Hi Jack

I do not even think this piece has ever been taken apart by anyone post war. In hand it feels like a good solid blade that has beenwell preserved.

The patina on all pieces down to the scabbard is perfectly aged together. Notice on the pics where the eagle has left shades on the scabbard.

Ive had a lot of Luft 2nd patterns and I can honestly say this is one of the more quality ones Ive handled.

What is really cool on this piece which I cant really capture in pics is one side of the grip is a slightly lighter shade of pumpking orange then the other side, it must have been resting for years on 1 side, its sort of like how a tequila sunrise drink blends together (only analogy I could come up with)

Quick edit, I just seen the hanger spring clip is out, Dr Dolch is right, I just correctly placed it back in.
