K98 bayonet with RZM markings on handle and frog

    The RZM was a completely separate entity, as compared to the arms inspectors who worked for the German Army who applied what we call "Waffenamts". Not really a quality control mark, the RZM marks were more driven by the revenue they produced for the NSDAP. So the bayonet posted (as has already been commented on multiple times) is clearly a fake/altered original as there is no connection between the two organizrtions.

    As for the Waffenamts themselves, especially with some very early bayonets, they can have different styles (and commission numbers) ie: not “matching”, And there are also some 'transitionals' which can have a combination of both early and (very slightly) later marks. But they are the legitimate "exceptions to the rule" as most are matching. FP

        This RZM stamps were found on some late war pieces, but we dont believe its real, same stamp on wood and leather.
