dagger makers help

hey guys

was just wondering, how did some dagger makers make so many differant types of dagger and others only make certain ones,was it down to quality or was it more personnal .
for example why did only 2 makers get the contract for the hj leaders daggers despite all the other makers available, why did some companies make sa daggers but did not make ss daggers despite the design being very similar

The number of contracts could have to do with supply & demand. There were millions of SA daggers produced between 1933-1945. There weren't that many HJ Leaders during the same period so logic would dictate far less of that model dagger. Some higher ups may had relationships with execs from different dagger producing companies which might explain why only certain makers made certain models.
