      Hi Skippy

I think I saw the same dagger posted on Marktplaats-dot-nl by a guy named Nico, if I'm not mistaking. Here it is:
      http://link.marktplaats.nl/311726469

The grip looks bad and too new, the inscription looks too "straight" compared to for instance this good, reliable source:

You will want additional photographs, but compare what you have with text and images that can be found here:

      http://www.therupturedduck.com/WebPages/Edged/e441b.htm

The blade might be real, but without close(r) ups you can't really see the inscription, nor the quality of it, nor its position on the blade. I don't know if honor daggers were made by RZM 7/36, I do know they were made starting in 1934. I would trust an honor dagger without RZM mark over a dagger with RZM mark. And, first of all, as buffer pads were hardly used, I'd never opt for paying for a dagger having a buffer pad between crossguard and blade without actualy seeing the dagger myself. 99,9999% of these pads are put on to mask bad fittings. And SS daggers always have splendid, nice, superior fittings

These 'honor' scabbards seem to pop up all over the place all of a sudden. I've seen 4 of these on eBay in January alone. Anyway, just a sideline note.

All in all I'd say that the chances of this dagger being reproduction are 100 out of 100 percent. But of course I don't know much, so maybe subtract 1 percent for frankness. Who knows, this might be that genuine dagger that slips through everyone's fingers. I doubt it wholeheartedly though. Really, don't pay more than €24,99 for this display piece unless you've seen, sniffed, caressed, held and validated its authenticity yourself.

Anyone else wants to chip in and shed another light on this one?

      Very best regards,
      Karin-Renate

The handle has that "plastic" look
And would agree about an inscription on a RZM blade.

These have been around for 30 years. You can buy them at almost any military show for about 20 bucks. As was stated, someone attempted to age this one, but it's still a pigs ear.
