    Hello guys,

now here is why I was not sure about the dagger.
My english is not very good, so I hope I can explain the reason right.

When I first saw the dagger, everything looked okay.
There is only one thing ... it is not possible to fix the grip complete to the dagger.

Reason is, that the wider part of the blade that goes into the grip is to short.
It does not stick out the cross-guard.

Please take a look at the photos - maybe that helps to show what I mean.

    Best regards,

    Joerg

It's really tough to tell from these pics, but it's possible that the grip is Galiath judging from how white it is, which would also explain why the tang was ground down, as Galiath is fairly brittle, almost "chalky". It could also be plastic which makes it a repro grip, but I doubt it... Galiath grips don't age very well though, so if it is, it's in great condition...

                  Thanks Gary!

Will try to make some better photos from the grip.

And what about the blade? Is it original?

                  Best regards,

                  Joerg

studb, is the scabbard magnetic ? (i don't like those bands and the runners inside.....) also, try with a burning needle on the handle if it is plastic made
