      Hi Cary,

Looks to me to be a desireable dagger & I think your run down of the piece was pretty much on the money. I agree that it's probably a ground Rohm despite the apparent lack of obvious grind marks. Have to agree with Jo that I've never seen this early Boker mark on a non ground Rohm & although this itself isn't dispositive, it's somewhat telling.

Someone really did a number on that scabbard, what a pity. I completely agree with Wags, find someone who is adept at restoring items & have that scabbard brought back to it's original color & finish. Swapping scabbards would indeed make it a "parts" piece & worth less than an original item that's been restored. This piece is still in collectible condition & I don't think you'd have trouble flipping it were you so disposed.

It must have been some set of collar tabs that you were willing to take an SS dagger as part of a lot just to get them.

        Thanks guys

WOW! Great to hear I don't have another addition to my large REPO collection! LOL

As I mentioned I had to buy this in the deal to get some Bullion tk collar tabs I wanted and mostly collect. I now will look for someone who will MAYBE trade this for one (bullion TK scull tab) as I am not as passionate about these as I am about tabs.
All of you who took the time to respond I really appreciate it very much!!

Your dagger reminds me of a SS dagger I almost passed up when I found it at an antique shop.It looked like a brown SA dagger handle and scabbard like yours. After I rubbed it down with a Birchwood/Casey silicon polishing cloth( found at gun shops) it turned black as night. I would not start changing things just to conform to what is suppose to be correct so fast. You might be changing something that is period done. JMO
