    Fighting knife opinion

Greetings : I am posting a fighting knife I have a chance to acquire. I have not handled many of these and am not sure of it's authenticity. With my limited knowlrdge I have reservstions about it , but I would greatly appreciate opinions from the "heavy weights". Thank you and all comments are welcome.
    Best Regards

Finally the Eickhorn logo. I hope these pictures are enough to determine "aye" or "nay" Thank you for all replies.

I'm not a heavyweight but IMO It is a good Eickhorn bowie tipped Infanteriemesser 42
This week has been sold on Ebay a similar one for $ 470
          Regards

Greetings: I haven't handled many of these and all the ones I had seen had the 2 finger attachment on the scabbard. Also this is the first one I have seen with a flat blade . All the others have the "dagger" point at the front, if you know what I mean. Does this mean in your opinion the knife is original?. Thank you for your reply

My 2 cents worth? Medium used and sharpened, but original. Nice!

                    Magnificent!

Greetings Jacques: "WOW" that is a very impressive collection. How long have you been collecting? Are fighting knives hard to find? Thank you for confirming that my knife is original. All the best!
                    Regards

                      Hi Zeke .
Yes , sure , your boot-knife is a rare Eickhorn made . I collect since more than 20 years and here , in France , you can find some times , here and there , in flea-markets , few little items like boot-knifes ( and some times , others finds ).
Best regards from ( rainy today ) south of France.
                      Jacques

macs military on e bay...has a fighting knife presently for sale , but its not an eickhorn...more like the one with the longer crossguard on left right by the ss dagger in photo 9. I dont buy from ebay so you can check it out , but i deleted the link, so youll have to look for it.

                              Hi, mates !

Want to "wake up" this old thread.

There you can see the varieties of the Eickhorn-logo of the, "over the shoulder lookin´ squirrel".

Some collectors are talkin´ ´bout the "1st version", and, the "2nd version" of this, particular, maker´s mark.

Today I catched an Infanteriemesser 42, made by Eickhorn on a flea market,
The knife itself isn´t in that good condition, but, it´s showin´the "been there, done that" character !

                              overall lenght: 261 mm
                              blade lenght: 146 mm
breadth, (width), of the blade: 22,2 mm
thickness of the blade: 3,1 mm

                              Cheers,
                              R.
