Sending a dagger from europe to the US?

who has any experience shipping a package from europe to the us which contains a dagger.

What papers do i need, i am concerned regarding the custum

Hi you only need a customs label to describe the contents & value that you get from the post office when your mailing off your package. There are no problems mailing daggers to the USA its probably the easiest country to ship a dagger into......Cheers Sweezz.

You have to declare the value. customs opens the package, inspects, and charges for customs fees depending on the value you state. Id use international priority mail W/ delivery confirmation , and insurance can be an option if you want the buyer to pay for it.(in case of loss theft or damage). That way the buyers protected. It takes several weeks to get a package, sometimes longer . I have taken styrofoam an inch or so thick in two halves each , and used a hot knife like a solder iron to melt a depresssion in 2 sides of styrofoam so the dagger lays in the depresssion once the two pieces of styrofoam is sandwiched together so the dagger fits in between, and it is taped together. Then build a box around it out of cardboard. I used a box from a keyboard of a computer. Then put a fragile sticker on it, and it should be fine. (Also on the inside put the same information as on the mailing to; and from sticker, just in case the stickers get ripped off or anything . That way it wont get lost. If you make an outline in pencil of the dagger on the foam ...you can then use the soldering iron or heat cutter to work it till it fits, but if you make it too deep, you can line the place for the dagger to lay with thin material to take up the space . It should be fine.
