Well I'm no expert, but it doesn't look like the "Blut Und Ehre" is actually etched in the blade, but is actually "printed" on (don't know the right word). I have never seen an original with an inscription that wasn't etched. Just my $0.02 .

      Hi,

I think it's an authentic piece although the motto does appear to be very lightly etched in place. As to how much you should pay...well that depends on how badly you want it and what your financial circumstances are. If you are an adult with a large income you may wish to hold off till you find one in better condition. If you are a teenage student with very limited funds it may meet your expectations.

Have a look here to see some dealer values.

      Hope this has helped.

      Regards,

There is absolutely no trouble with this HJ knife that is 100% OK. Fittings are a bit oxidated, but it is a nice one
Price could be from 400 to 500$

                No need for an apology.

                Hello Col. Klink,

You pointed out a concern and did so in a respectful manner. Nothing wrong with that. It's part of how we learn and help one another. All too often we just see someone come in with a negative comment, a down turned thumb smillie face and nothing else to back up their opinion. You took the time to explain your thoughts and "That's a Good Thing".

                Kind regards,
                Stu

its alot harder to confirm thoughts with these good clean condition knives as we see alot more abused and well loved examples.

whats it worth, well whats the bidding up to, 2 seperate posts it has to be on an auction site somewhere
