I got this after a week of researching before I bought it,though the shop lady promises a 7 day return period just in case.I'm not a dagger person, and have no info other than what I've gleaned of the net.I do know it has a good Tiger trademark,a Type A generic cross guard and I'm guessing a plaster filled grip. The pommel and ferrel seem kosher and the cross mark on the tang is a good sign. The inside of the magnetic scabbard is coated in a haze of rust, except for the tension fingers which are shiny as the blade. The knot is worn a bit in places but looks period,if not perhaps married to the piece. The only fly in the ointment to me is the finish,I see faint traces of silver plate everywhere, but it seems to have evaporated(or been polished off) like on a zinker WB for instance. Is this normal for pot metal fittings? I've got $300 invested, but I'm sure if I got bent over on this one I can return it.Thanks for any advice in my uncharted dagger waters! [IMG] [/IMG]

Whew, thanks for the positive news,I really had a good feeling about this one,and felt the price was great, considering the 5-6 bills most online sights demand, and yes, only a slight fingerprint or two on the blade,no polishing or sharpening/re-tipping.The knot may even be original to the piece.BTW,@ what year would this one have been sold,43,44,45-ish? It's my first military dag,I have an SA,and now gunning for a Luft!

The lady that rents the booths mentioned the seller thought the Heer may be fake because the German word for TIGER wasn't used on the blade. People should perhaps be required to pass a test and obtain a license to collect/sell this stuff, heh heh...Last edited by Scott-W; 04-09-2009, 07:36 AM.
