Nice boot/fighting knife, though not very rare i have seen a dozen or so at shows in the last year here in the US. The stamp is for the Luftwaffe issue.

      Orginal knife you have there.
The Luftamp "6" is rare to find.
Normaly you will see the Luftamp "5"

Some bootknifes also have marking "S"

LH600 is correct in that the 6 stamp is a rare one, maybe do to the local economy these are popping up. I have seen 2 "6" stamps, 1 "S" stamp the rest were "5" stamps. Also related were a couple "W" stamped knifes but i believe that's for Warmacht.

I think the W mark is a maker mark, not an acceptance mark. "Wehrmacht" was a term for the armed forced - Heer, Kriegsmarine, and Luftwaffe.

              Hi
I think the same applies to the S marking.
              Regards
