Luftwaffe Sword, Question of potential value.

Hello Forum Members:

I have been off line for a few months and would like an opinion on current values for Luftwaffe Swords. In particular the SMF that I have in Excellent+++ condition. Hard to upgrade. Still shows some gilt in the Swastika, Almost perfect blade and scabbard. Hilt wrap is excellent.

I will add a picture. I would think around 800.00 US Dollars but I may be low. Please advise if you have current pricing information. At any rate, I thought you guys might enjoy the pictures of a nice SMF. By the way, is SMF a common maker??

Does it have it's Hanger still attached; are Fittings Aluminum?

Your Luft. sword appears in nice condition, but is missing it's leather hanger, & that lowers the value. If blade, & scabbard have no damage; then Your estimate is in right area. SMF is a common maker for Luft. edged weapons. How long is the Blade?

I agree with Bob. The missing hanger hurts the value and you're probably in the ballpark at $800.00. That being said, the condition is pretty nice so, if you plan to sell it, you could start off a little higher (maybe $900) and see what happens.
