Nice SA But whats it worth?

    Hi,
okay is a guy selling a Sa here in Australia which means no large post prices or Customs hassles that makes it attractive to start with, got some photographs and its quite nice, for a RZM that is. Seems these were only worth $500 some time back what would be a reasonable price for this one in the current market.
    cheers Robert

last one, not much lifting to the plating, would $700 be too high a price?

All in all, not a bad piece. At $500.00 it would be a good deal. At $700...not great, but I understand getting daggers into Australia can be expensive and time consuming, so it boils down to total cost (time and money) and what you're willing to spend.

              Hope that helps,

Those crossguards do not sit right with me. The grip just looks funky all the edges are rounded off. RZM contours are normally sharper and more pronounced. Personally I would not touch it.
                  Sorry

I had one of these years ago in my SA collection and when I sold 75 pieces off I had one of these in it. When the dealer went through everything and was looking them over he saw that piece and said no to that one . I had to sell it as a parts dagger as I remember.

Looks like a parts piece to me too Robert. The one photo of the scabbard to crossguard fit combined the grip to crossguard fit is enough to shy away.

                          RZM Dagger

Thanks guys I will give it a miss, its on aussie ebay from experience it should get between $650.00 and $950.00 depending upon the bidders around at the time. When I asked the seller for photographs he was not happy at first and remarked the ones on ebay should be sufficient, he then did send a lot of detailed photographs. He is only selling to fund buying a SS Dagger.I was only interested as the Aussie dollar is low again and the lack of needing an import permit. But as another collector told me with daggers quality matters,
                          cheers Robert

                              SA Dagger

I like the look of the blade but the hilt assembly looks a bit odd to me.
