Trench Knife ID help

I was given a German trench knife a few years ago. I have included several pictures below. Can anyone identify the maker mark and the age of the knife? Any other information would be helpful.

The marking above "GERMANY" is an Imperial German military inspection stamp.

However - IMHO this is a modern repro.

Originals from the WW1 era do not have the GERMANY marking.

Having collected these for 20 years, there is something about it that I don't like - it just doesn't look right.

That's my view - others may differ.
