    SS bayo?

What's your opinions about a bayo with this emblem in the grip? It's not mine, but I have permission to post the pix.I can't post more pix of it since when I try to save them to my hard-drive,they become bmp files!GD Windows!
If anybody is interested,I can email more pix.

    Rich,

These turn up from time to time and I think it would be foolish to assume they did not exist during the period. The problem is that just about anyone with a grip emblem and the right size Forstner bit could make one up...pre- or post-1945!

Not something that I personally could be persuaded to part with a lot of money for, but a neat item just the same!

It kind of reminds me of the 1914 EK1/1939 Spange combination decoration. I had been wanting one but, by virtually all accounts, it is difficult - if not impossible - to tell when they were actually put together. I finally found one I liked at the MAX last year for a price that wasn't a great deal more than the value of the two items separately. That's the way I would prefer to buy one of those bayonets if I was looking for one.

    Best,

The bayo looks real to me,and so does the emblem, but when it was installed and by who is the real question! But without real evidence as to originality,I wouldn't pay more than I would the dress bayo itself.
