haven't made it to bill e's auction in years.. he occasionally turns up some decent (and some beat) stuff. watch out for the worcester "olde tyme stuff" sale - lots of repro goes through there. congrats on the luft cap and cloth at the other sale. chased a a.c.s. gov. official dagger and army dagger at another sale this weekend, was the underbidder at $7000 for the two...
    oh well

I see the dagger was re-auctioned due to a deadbeat bidder, does anyone know what it went for this time. the auction happened yesterday the 30th.

Sounds to me like the bidder had really tied one on and finally sobered up. All daggers look good just when the bar is closing, it's the morning after that's the killer.

No offenese but you need to look harder...I found it in less than 2 minutes. Here is the Link.

Also Guys be VERY Careful with these auctions if your not going to be there in person.....Alot of dealers are HAPPY To take your absentee bid but they fail to mention that LOTS of the stuff is not from estates but is getting pushed through by Dealers...Bad stuff...questionable items and outright fakes. Its a Great way for guys to dump their better repros.

For what the purchaser paid for that he should of just spent a few more thousand to get a decent one!

Wow in 1998 I turned down (thought it sounded high) an extremely classy chained SS dagger for $2500. the guy who bought it tripled his money at a KC show. Then in 2003 a friend sold his chained SS (also a nice one) for $2300 and I missed that one. So this one really seems high to me.
