            Good catch

            Hi Robert,

Thanks for showing us your new sawback. That's not a maker mark I have seen before. Nice addition to your collection.

            Regards,
            Stu

Great example and as has been said a very scarce maker.

IMO these are the most impressive and interesting of all of the major issue German bayonets of the 20th century. These are very under collected right now and I think that this is bound to change. I have been picking these up (on occasion) for the last 40 years or so and I find them about 100X more interesting and attractive than the WWII type.

The butcher blade bayonet is awesome alone, then the saw tooth!!!! I really need to pick up a couple more of them, just love them. Nice feel in the hand as well. Great find!! Matt

                            Cito Sawback

All your comments have convinced me to keep this bayonet. I have to make some sacrifices its so hard picking things to sell when you need funds. I collect WW2 but sawbacks are an offshoot you could say. My wife nags me to sell off some things for cash, she thinks as these are WW1 I have no need for them. I was wondering why it was not dated so thanks for the info. Bayonets are so interesting one could collect them alone.
                            thanks Robert
