    Help on SS Dagger

Hi, I need some expert help for this dagger I bought along with a bunch of other third reich militaria, most of it is genuine, but I am not convinced about this one. I am medal collector so my knowledge is not big on daggers, but all the pages I checked I haven't found anyone looking like this. So could you guys perhaps tell me if it is a fake or some of the parts are? Please (since I would like to learn more) let me know why it isn't genuine.
By the way sorry for the lousy pics, let me know if they're no good!

Unfortunately, this is fake. For starters, Himmler daggers were not RZM marked.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Sorry, I agree with Larry. It is bad for the reason stated. These fakes have been around many many years.

              Cheers, Ade.

                Thanks

Thanks guys, that's what I thought - Just wanted to make sure. Nothing seems to add up. The oak leaves are to my knowledge also only on the "ehren" version which had gold writing, right?

I agree...total fantasy piece - in addition to the spurious RZM mark, the Himmler's didn't have the "Honor" crossguards either. There should also be enamel in the "SS" grip insignia - another dead giveaway on these fakes.

All Himmlers were made by Eickhorn and should feature the early TM (with or without the serrated-tail squirrel). Unless you look at the reverse of the blade, they are industinguishable from a standard 1933-pattern SS dagger.

                  Best,

Okay, didn't know that... I already thought it was a fake when I bought it, but it came with some very nice stuff including what seems to be a genuine allegemeine visor (or possible Schalburg Korps), and some books with signatures from Siegfried Taubert (One of Himmler's assistents and the head of Wewelsburg Castle), so all in all a good purchase... Except for this piece of course...
