Troddel for Panzerjäger

Hi, I've bought myself a panzerjäger tunic (EM) (pink piping) but I don't know what troddel to use on the parade bajonet. Who can help me?

And do NCO's always have the same troddel? (Green with alumium?)

You need to know the configuration of the Panzerjäger unit you wish to represent. You can then choose which battalion and company color combinations you need. Actually, you will probably need a Faustriemen since Panzertruppen (I am not certain about Panzerjäger) did not wear the Troddel.

All junior NCOs wore the green and aluminum Troddel or Faustriemen, i.e. Panzer NCOs wore the Faustriemen with a green leather strap. Senior NCOs (Unteroffiziere mit Portepee) wore the Officer Portepee.

The green Troddel with a red stem is for an enlisted member of the Staff of the IInd Battalion. Panzertruppen wore a Faustriemen and did not wear a Troddel of any style. This would not be correct for your uniform.

Ok thanks...but what is a faustriemen?

Sander,

A Faustriemen is a style of knot that has a plain leather strap (green for Heer and grey for Luftwaffe) instead of cloth. It has a flat ball instead of the round one seen on a Troddel. It has no stem, only a slider that sits on top of the crown. I can't post photos so I cannot show you an example. Perhaps someone else can post a photo of a Faustriemen for Sander to see.

PS. Thanks for the complement Skip. Too much arcane knowledge is probably the result of a mis-spent youth.

Sorry, the period "Deutsche Uniformen" by Verlag Moritz Ruhl clearly states (and shows in pics) on Tafel#7 " "Troddeln (translated: for enlisted men of infantry, tanks, reconaissance and support troops" and are showing the "normal" (infantry) troddels we all know and like one of them is shown in the book-article.
Faustriemen there are shown only in connex with Kavallerie and mounted artillery regiments.
