    Mystery sword

Another unknown item: a close friend of mine has this sword, he got it from someone's attic and he would like to know more about it - like which period does it belong to, who used it, what's the value of such an item...

    So here it is:

    ... and the maker's logo:

Any info will be useful, so thank you in advance

I have just seen a Spanish steel helmet on JC Militaria website with exactly the same eagle and cross badge attached to the front.

Thanks, reichenberg and helmetbuyers. The eagle definitely looks like this one http://www.jcmilitaria.com/display_image.asp?ID=1706

And how about the period this sword was used? Anything about the maker's mark? And a rough value of it?

I think Spanish is a pretty good guess. User Frogprice may be able to provide better insight into it. He has thorough knowledge of various national sabers.
