Unissued HJ Knife?

Well, this is a story!
Went yesterday afternoon to look at a late 50's early 60's record collection. Turned out not to be good enough condition & conversation turned to Militaria. He said he had something i might be interested in. Asked what it was & he said a dagger but one maybe i shouldn't show people. I asked why & he said because it had a Swastica on it!
Well, he came downstairs with a plastic bag & pulled this out of it:

then out of this bag comes this:

he started to pull the knife out of the scabbard & i thought it's too nice to be an early one with the motto:

Anyway, his Uncle served in WW2, he had no children, when he died recently his nephew had to clear his stuff out. In the house was a safe, when they got it open this HJ was in there but no-one in the family had ever known about it.

Since getting it home i have wondered if it's unissued. It has full crossgrain which i can't photograph well. no sharpening. The leather on it looks so new & inside the scabbard. Unfortunately there is some rust on the end of the handle & end of the blade, maybe water got to it back in the war. is that bag an original bag of issue?

Thanks mate, things like this never usually happen to me, it was a total shock. He's also got a lot of British medals WW1 & 2 he might call me about. All issued to members of his family.
