    SA makers without Gau stamps!

I would be interested to know about as many early SA makers as possible you guys have seen without a Gau stamp!
Please post the maker and if possible a picture.

I have seen pictures of two example of Gebruder Heller Schmalkalden without Gau stamps and one of those babies is on its way to me.

        Hi Sam
Very nice website. I also made an excell spread sheet for my own use years ago that combine McSarr and Fisher ratings with GAU and RZM numbers and MM descriptions. It also denotes Rohm and NSKK makers. I used to carry Fisher and McSarr to shows until I decided to consolidate them. Mine is not for sale though and out of respect for Mike I dont share it.

i have an RZM M7/27 with no gau marks, unless it was stopped on later daggers? or should we expect to see them on early, transitional and late SA's?

            Hi Mike
The Gau stampes were only on the early maker marked SA daggers. They should not be seen on SS daggers. Although I have seen some examples of SS daggers with GAU markings, these are usually attributed to makers using up crossguards taken off SA Rohms that were returned to the factories.

Thanks Bob! I’m very happy that you’re like my site! <O</O

I first make the list for my own use as a hobby project as it was a good way to learn, but when I noticed that other collectors could have some use of an easy quick SA guide not only a rarity list but also with additional information like Gau, rzm etc..I decide to contact Mike to ask for his permission to use information from the McSARR.<O</O
Mike liked the idea and agreed and that’s the only reason why I decide to proceed to make the list public to make life a little bit easier for SA collectors.<O</O
I have a huge respect for Mike and his incredible work and I would never dream of making the list public without Mike’s permission.<O</O

The small fund is for paper, package, posting..update.etc<O</O
                  <O</O
Hopefully some SA collectors will find the list useful as an easy tool to get some basic information fast.<O</O

I’m always grateful to get new inputs and opinions from you guys. <O</O

Sam - I too have come across only one dagger without a Gau. Eickhorn small squirrel (serrated tail) Rohm SA.

My understanding was these were meant to be presentation items rather than a bulk order from a particular maker sold to SA in a particular Gau.

I would not be surprised if many or most SA's found without a Gau mark are Rohm's/ground Rohm's.
