    HJ Knife

I assisted Lakeside Trader with his article on HJ Knives and have to say that the diamond wiggle is just another bit of information gone over the top with some people. IN SOME CASES the wiggle is a clue that the diamond was not replaced and glued in the slot. It doesn't mean that a non-wiggle diamond is a replacement nor that the lack of wiggle is a bad sign (just better TR production in my opinion if all other signs are good-no evidence of glue around the edges or in the slot).
Next, on the M7/13 HJ Knife that didn't sell at the show. I wonder if the polish on the blade might have been what stopped some people from buying. It looks as though someone had either cleaned or buffed the blade.
Another factor might be that M7/13 is the MOST COMMON manufacturer and some might want another code???
In any case, the knife is just fine and should be of no concern with the above mentioned cautions.

While I would hate to differ with anyone who assisted with an article, Skipper and I watched what was happening. While my photos do give the appearance of a polished blade, the makers mark photo attests to the fact that most of the original crossgraining remains. I agree however that there were plenty of polished pieces to be had. JMHO.

IMO there is no sane reason to decline such a beautiful knife at a good price just because its by a common marker

Hi Larry - I remember you showing me that HJ at the show. I had no problem with it.

I used to own an HJ before my purge, believe it was an M7/37 transitional right as rain and the grip insignia did not move one bit. Lack of movement is only an indicator to check further not a red flag to stop and go no further.
