    SS Dagger Serial Number

I have an SS 1933 Dagger with a serial number on the reverse underside of the crossguard. The number is 251 732. Can anyone tell me anything about that number? Is it on any lists that anyone may have, indicating the name of the original owner, etc.? Or, is there someone you can direct me to who can research it?

II is also stamped on the reverse face of the crossguard indicating that it was issued in Dresden, if that is of any help in answering my question. In other words, the serial number is on the underside and the II is stamped on the reverse face (two different locations).

    Thanks...

Good luck! Let us know if you get a match to a name. I just love numbered and researched daggers.

    Cheers, Ade.

Sounds nice - any chance you can share some pictures with us? I for one would really like to see it

Thanks, and good luck with your research.

        Ade,

Thanks for the link to the dagger research website. I just sent them an e-mail, and I will let you know what I find. Wish me luck...

        Rob,

I do not currently have a subscription to the forum, but I am considering it. If I get one, I will most certainly post photos of my dagger. It's actually in very nice condition, complete with the original belt loop and hanger. I am just currently awaiting to see if any information is available about it.

Well, the results are already in. Unfortunately, I was informed that there is currently no information available for that serial number. However, I was also told that new numbers are added every week, and there is still hope that information can be found. If anything changes, I'll be sure to let you know.

Thanks anyway for directing me to a website which gave me a fast answer and continuing hope. At least I now know and, no matter what, I still have a great dagger.
