            Well I can assure you that the hilt is not made by Alcoso... This is a difficult dagger to buy.

              I have to concur with Paul. The crossguard certainly was not made by Alcoso.

              Buyer beware applies here.

                more opinions

                this dagger came with many out of a collection i bought years ago. like i mentioned i don.t know much about this one and it doesn't look like it was pieced togather .i'm not disputting responses just adding my two cent thanks.
                also i heard that some makers also purchased parts for other makers (mentioned on some pieces from bill shea site )could this be the case ???

                  Paul & Tony are right, despite the fact some manufacturers bought/swapped parts, an Alcoso KM/WPP crossguard will always be just a little different. Your crossguard is definitely not an Alcoso product. That said, the grip emblem looks larger than it should be, like the type from a sword grip instead of that from a polizei bayonet. I would tread very carefully with these pieces are they are one of the most extensively faked daggers of the 3R period.

                    my fellow collectors this what this forum is all about. i got some fantastic help with this one so thanks to the ones who responded.beside myself i hope you all got an education on this blade.... beware. luckly i didn't get to slammed with this one..any body want to buy a terrific letter opener
