glad i got that right, learned something at least found a full rohm but at ******163;2000 the girlfriend would have gone nuts. I searched the whole show to only find about 10 hj knives none of which shouted buy me buy me i was looking forward to picking another up.

The girlfriend kills me on a regular basis!
I already have a HJ, just looking for a better condition one with Motto & as you say, it's real hard unless you spend a fortune.

Glad to help out in this! This knife was listed on the estand at GDC, and should have been spotted over there. I am not an expert and it looked wrong right from the get go.

Hi Larry - The checkering alignment is what I sent in my PM as you probably are now aware. That said, I would like to see examples of original HJ knives by any maker where the insert cutout does not cut across the checkers. Not saying they are not out there, but would like to see it.

Yep, that's where it's from. Not so sure it looked bad from the pictures on there, there wasn't a picture of the grip seam, obviously should have asked for a close up of the diamond. As for the blade, i'm sure that's period & it's always hard to see exact shape from pictures.
Suprised that no-one over there is policing that E-Stand, makes you worry about buying off it, if something dodgy goes up here a discussion is opened straight away!
