Unmarked blade for Chained SS; Opinions please.

Hello again to the Forum,

I've received another chained SS on approval; this time from a very long-term friend who bought it from a veteran's estate. I sent photos to JR. for his opinions and liked everything about the dagger except the tang of the blade. He says he has only seen tangs like this on reproducitons.

I hate to send this back if it's original: it was priced right and I don't wish to upset my friend, who is convinced the dagger is right. Please take a look and let me know what you think. I'll only post photos of the blade, for now, since it's the only part in question. I can take more photos if needed.

Harvey, What specifically did JR not like about the tang?...Cheers...Jeff

Hi Jeff,

JR just questioned the crudeness of the tang, but he likes the rest. We may have moved past that now. I sent photos to Mr. Wittmann and, from my photos, he likes the blade and seems certain it is not a repro.
