    Denny,

Very nice nobby stag. The one I saw had the more expensive nobby stag grips on the front as well. I will PM you.

      Here's my M1898 dress bayonet with the L - O - N - G blade. It's in remarkable condition...

And another nice imperial NCO bayonet with a mean-looking saw-back blade...

          Denny,

Wow, you've got more tricks up your sleeve. That's a super Baden with the stag grip plates, something I've never seen before. Now the task is to find a proper knot, not easy my friend!

          George,

Would it also be proper to have a silver bullion officer's knot on a PSS or is the green/silver NCOs knot the only correct one?

            Billy,

Since we don't know which police units were supposed to wear the PSS I would think that a silver Police Officer knot (kleiner Portepee) could also be worn. There are no known regulations to dispute doing so.

                  Denny,

Thanks for posting my two Badische Polizei-Seitengewehre. These were both made by WKC and show the two sizes that were worn. The gold example on the left is listed in the WKC catalog as #824 and is the regulation issue size. The silver example on the right is the same one that is on the cover of "Seitengewehr: History of the German Bayonet 1919-1945" and is listed in the WKC catalog as #832. This Extrawaffen is described as "leichter Ausf******252;hrung" by WKC.

The closeup hilt photo shows the gold color finish and it is an item of issue with issue markings and a Waffe number. The WKC trademark is seen on the obverse of the blade in the typical WKC manner. Notice that these grips are checkered brown wood and are secured by three rivets in the proper manner for these sidearms. If you think gold color Prussian Police bayonets are hard to find try finding one of these.

                  George

                    Thanks George,
Notice the grip rivets shown on my early Eickhorn marked piece - only 2 rivets.
You are correct about the rarity of these gold Baden pieces - I've seen several gold Prussians over the years, but your Badens are the only ones I've ever seen! Great stuff!

                              Denny,

Yes, three rivets for the WKC made Baden Police and two for the Eickhorn made ones. Do you know the make on the one with the stag grip?

                                George,
Sorry, no. The stag one sold on ebay 4 or 5 years ago and I can no longer recall the maker.

                                Bill,
                                Nice Police bayo!
