          Mike,
I don't see any red flags on this KS98. I'm at work and going by memory but think the trademark is Emil Voos. Not a rare maker, but not one seen very often. Looks like a keeper.

            Mike,

I agree with Denny. I don't see any obvious red flags either. What makes you think it is a copy since you are holding it in your hands?

              dress bayonet

              Hi there.
The reason i thought it was a copy is that i am not really into bayonets and it was bought for very little money. Regards Mike.

Wehrmacht, Kriegsmarine or Luftwaffe - all used the same KS98 with the walking-out dress uniform for other ranks. A brown frog would designate Luftwaffe while a black one would be used for the others.
What is the blade length? They came in two different lengths with the shorter being designated for NCO's.

Nice Voos bayonet. Crisp trademark stamping.

The narrow fuller would suggest the 20cm or the shorter bladed model.

A word to the wise. Not eveyone who sells collectables may be up on the current prices. A low price should not be a sole indicator of a fake.

Have you never heard of getting a 'great deal' every once in a while?

Its approx.8inches blade length.I have heard of a great deal Tony, but in my experience they are few and far between. Thanks for your input,a nice surprise.Regards Mike. P.s. i was wondering, does the green felt insert signify any thing.

                        Mike,

The green felt signified either J******228;ger-Formationen or Flieger-Aufsichtstruppen per the period Eickhorn catalog. The KS98 with a 20cm blade is correct for NCO personnel and the brown frog could be for early Heer J******228;ger or Luftwaffe Aufsichtstruppen.

It looks like a nice original bayonet.

                          That's why it's a great deal.
