When ever I comtemplate buying an early nickel Luft sword, or for that matter a 1st model Luft dagger, I always look to see how much of the original silver is in the legs of the swaskika on both the pommel and crossguard. Of course the blade and leather is very important on these 3rd Reich Luft edged weapon, but when the silver is polished from these 2 areas, it kills the deal for me. So many times you see that incerted disc pommel so polished like a new penny that you can hardly make out whether it's a swastika or Abe Lincoln's head ! <!--graemlinD-->
This is a beauty that just came in yesterday. Dark patina throughout, extremely nice original supple leather, %100 silvering in the swastikas, and a drop dead stone mint blade. Love this maker as well......... SMF ! JR
