    Skipper's Father

Guys, since we're somewhat family here, I wanted to let everyone know that Skipper Greenwade's father passed away this evening. Having had the opportunity to know Mr. Greenwade for many years I think the description I once heard referring to him as a "man's man" was probably the most accurate compliment that could be employed. The list of young people with little direction in life that Mr. Greenwade hired and encouraged to go back and finish school is too numerous to count. Like Johnny Appleseed, there are a lot of trees that now bear fruit that would have withered and died. Tonight the world became a little smaller but is a lot better off for the seeds left in his footsteps. Our sympathy to Skipper and his family.

    Amen.

My grandfather passed away on the 19th (WWII vet, 15th Air Force) so I understand what your going through. I wish you all the best and I'm sorry for your loss. I didn't think my WWII hero would ever die. I'm very proud of him and will miss him. I was blessed to live nearby and spend many vacations together.

Sorry Skip. My mother passed away on Sept. 19, so I know the feelings still today only too well.
