Unknown Dagger What the Heck is This?

Gentlemen. I`m not sure if this should be in this forum but I`m putting it here because the blade is a German blade. My first question is What the hell is this? Im not a blade person so please forgive my ignorance. The blade is marked Original Eickhorn Solingen with the squirrel symbol. Also what kind of value might this hold. I pretty sure this is not the right scabbard for this dagger but this is what came with it . Next question, what does this scabbard belong to? Thanks

I guess it's trying to be an Imperial Air Corps dagger, (if there was such a thing, I'm not sure) Third Reich daggers are more familar to me.

The grip and scabbard resemble that of a 1st model Luftwaffe, (without the emblem on the upper scabbard band, of course).

Is that an Imperial pommel? (The Imperial Guys would know.)

I don't know about the crossguard.

That blade sure looks like it came from a navy dirk. Notice the notch in the ricasso just below the crossguard. I believe that to be for a scabbard release button, commonly seen on navy daggers.
That may be why the scabbard seems wrong to you.

                  Dagger

Thanks for the info. I threw it up on Imperial also to see what info I can get there. Ed, I assume then that this scabbard does indeed not go with this dagger. Is that correct? Does the scabbard alone hold any value and if so how much. Thanks

                    Chris,

I'm going to go out on a limb and say I think the scabbard and dagger go together. Axis daggers are not my strong suit but the dagger itself as well as the scabbard have various similarities to the Luftwaffe first model. Unusual looking piece but I'm sure collectable in it's own right.

Dagger and scabbard do go together. Sorry, no idea of value. Regards, Ed. ..

I think that you're right Billy.
The hilt and scabbard seem to match.
It's just that the switched-out navy blade will not fit into the air force scabbard.
That's why he thought that the scabbard was wrong.
I think that the blade is the odd piece in this rig.
What do you think Larry, or Skipper?
Am I wrong about the blade?

I guess I'm wrong about the blade.
The other forum has a link to a dealer with one just like it.
It has the same "navy type" blade.

                          My mistake.

I posted some pertinant questions on the Imperial forum in response. I didn't see all the 'traffic ' here. Maybe someone can transfer them over here? It regards the trademark and related dates of use.
