    Alcoso Army Dagger.

    Hello.
I will be realy appreciated to hear what do you think about this Alcoso dagger.
Is this authentic dagger? If so, what about the parts? Are they all original for this maker?
Thank you all, who can share his attainments.

Looks fine to me. The crossguard and pommel are Alcoso. Alcoso Armies usually have a white grip.

What about the scabbard? Does this type of scabbard acceptable for this maker? As I understand Alcoso's scabbard throat generally fixed by 2 screws.
        Thanks.

No problem there. I've seen them with single screws although it isn't the norm. The condition and age appear to matches the dagger. From the pics it looks ok.

              Hi,

The Alcoso dagger you showed has a crossguard in the so-called "High-lift" style. This model was produced after 1941. And it's vary rare to find it in a good condition due to the poor metal alloy's that the used at that time. I think the scabbard is a standard model that they buyed from an specialized manufacturer, what is normal for a dagger from this late period.

No filler, the grip is solid, and looks to be made from plastic.

The grip looks to be made of a milk derivative material called Galath. The give away is the numerous small surface cracks.

                    Nice dagger.

FYI. Clean and wax your scabbard runners now that you have them out. Also flush out the gunk in the scabbard shell before reassembling. This will prevent any further blade scratches.

                      Thanks for the advice, Tony.
That was the main reason, why I disassemble the scabbard.
Now the dagger move in and out smooth and gentle.

I am with Tony , when the Grip is from Gallalith , then it is a very , very rare item ! - Because DJR. will us give his opinion .
