    Chained SS dagger

    hello guys,

I am a medalguy, but just traded some medals for this SS chained dagger.
The question is simple...Is it normal for the wood to be slightly thicker than the pommel fitting?
here are some picture of the dagger:

That fit is not uncommon on daggers of that ones vintage.....Jimmy

The angles of the grip look correct face-on, but that is quite a difference in the width of the grip compared to the crossguard. It is common to see the grip protrude a little even on early political daggers but I've never seen that much even on RZM pieces. Are the crossguards solid nickel or plated? Have you taken the grip apart to see what internal markings there may be?

The fittings are from solid nickel on the dagger, but plated on the scabbard.
No markings anywhere, not even on the tang or inside fittings.
Took pictures of the top and bottom of the grip...notice have the top has been "fitted" to be wider...
