SA Dagger in bad shape: Value?

Hello all, someone is offering me this dagger for around $275 US Dollars. But it is is really nasty condition IMO and I haven't heard of the maker before.

What are your opinions on the matter? Should I buy it for $270? And if not what would a fair price be to offer?

Also, do you think it is really authentic. I am personally pretty sure, but second opinions are great.

I would'nt buy it. Grip is totally fake. Homemade probably and it does nt have the SA logo.

Do you believe that the rest of the dagger is authentic perhaps? Or is it just a authentic blade surrounded with crap parts?

personally, i think the blades ok, but as stated the grips not good, but i feel this wasnt done to deceive otherwise the faker would have added the sa logo,,,surely??? i just think its a post war repair, probebly done by the veteran or original owner, any how, only worth the blade, id say 80 uk, i bought a less than average sa for 200 uk, with no hanger or eye. keep looking and good luck, theres plenty out there . phil

Save your money, it's pure junk and is worth more like $2.75.

Notice how the top of the etching of "Alles fur Deutschland" is parallel to the top of the blade and not centered on the spin of the blade? This is a characteristic of fake blades to be aware of. The motto on an original is never oriented in this way. As for cross graining, the lack of it is not necessarily indicative of a fake as many original blades have been polished enough over the years that it has disappeared.
