Help with dagger please!

Hello,
I have found a dagger for sale with the makers mark Paul Weyersberg and Co. Was wondering if anyone has heard of this maker! The dagger has a white ivory handle with what looks like silver braid wrapped around it, also it has a decorative ball on the top with a swastika inside, bottom of handle has a eagle and swastika, also silver coloured scabbard. Any info welcome. Thanks

Sounds like a second model Luftwaffe. Weyersberg is not rare maker of these daggers.

I think you are talking about a second model Luftwaffe Offizierendolch. Weyersberg produced such daggers, there are also plenty of fakes of them. When you don't have any knowledge of such daggers, is it better not to buy. You have only about 50% luck that you talking about an genuine Third Reich dagger.

A good sign for an original Weyersberg that doesn't appear on the copies is a Waffenampt above the maker's mark. Its a small eagle stamping... Theo's warning is apt, these were well faked.

Red
