At one time someone told me but I've forgot over the years, what is the origin of this naval(?) knife? Also, what does the "S.S.P." stand for? Thank you.

Hi Dave, the knife is WW2 British Army issue, not Royal Navy. Royal Navy issue jack knives were all metal and a different design. "SSP" is the maker, "Sheffield Steel Products". Value here is the UK is £5. I know this does not sound much, but these used to sell for about 50p ten years or so ago. So values are slowly climbing.
Cheers, Ade.
