    Is this WW2 era German?

Hello guys, I have a queation. What is this knife? I'm not sure. It has Simon Munchen on the blade.

Is it Third Reich? Is it worth anything?

    THANKS

Not an "official" TR piece. Could simply be kitchen cutlery that was made before, during, or - for that matter - after the war.

What sometimes gets overlooked here is that many, many of the firms that produced Third Reich daggers, swords and bayoinets were in business decades and even centuries before Hitler came to power. They were, first and foremost, for-profit entities and most, if not all, viewed the production of edged weapons during the TR period as just another way to make money. The daggers were produced in many of the same factories and by the same craftsmen as their regular lines of cutlery, surgical instruments, export pieces, scissors, shears and other items. (In the case of WKC, bicycles were also a part of their product line!)

As a result, many pieces that bear TM's from the recognized producers of daggers, etc. are nothing more than plain, everyday utensils with few clues to indicate the time of manufacture or originally-intended use. The same can be said of the piece in the "Boot Knife Help Please" thread here on the Forum.
