SS dagger hanger leather part ?

    Hi all,

I just got this small dagger hanger piece. I wanted to know if it was for the SS dagger since it is black ? Second thing is the value, how much can I ask for this thing ? I want to put it on the estand but since daggers arnt my field of experience I need your help please.
The strap is unissued and sourfaced in the Eickhorn factory stocks.

    Many thanks in advance.

It is my understanding that these black ones were used for both SS and NSKK daggers. Perhaps someone can verify that.

                  hanger

In my opinion this hanger looks strange. The leather is like new , no stamping on the leather, and the holes are not in the center of the belt. It looks like new chrome on old buckle and new leather and poor quality, Just my opinion, maybe someone with more experience help you.regards zet

I have to say I'm interested in hearing what others have to say as well.

Perhaps it's the photos, but the leather looks too 'thick' for a dagger strap. What looks to be a cast, chrome-plated clip is at odds with the nickel buckle, the holes are off, and I think most SA/SS/NSKK straps have a parallel line down each edge of the leather lengthwise.

SA with the same parallel lines near each edge...

                          Hi all,

many thanks for the opinions and the comments. Iam not a dagger guy at all, but I see what you mean and Iam 100% with you.
I dont know more about this thing, but what I can asure you is that the piece came out of the Carl Eickhorn factory in Solingen before 4 weeks. And this is not a simple story, I was there myself together with a friend who bought some more stuff.
So it can only be that they made these things after the war as well. I give my word that it is no fake but it can be post war produced.

I just got this out of the lot because my friend didnt noticed that one as a hanger piece.

                          Many thanks to all,

                          Jens
