Hi folks
Im posting some of the items that I have had for a while and not discussed on the forum. I guess this is a ww1 fighting knife. Measures10 1/2" overall with a 5 5/8"
blade. Ricasso marked "Hugo Koller/Solingen" with logo(eagle w/spread wings
clutching a knife and a straight razor). Opposite side of blade bears a crown over?
proof, letter is clear but appears to be a backwards gothic"D". Wood grips are clean and smooth with only minor marks. The date "Nov 1 1918 has been carved into the grip, this is 10 days before the end of ww1 when the armistice was signed.
Not sure if the carving is original, I guess could be vet done, what do yous think, please give opinions
