    Beautiful baby LW sword!

I just got this today and even though some unmitigated moron lightly sharpened it, I still think it is stunning. I placed a Lincoln penny next to it. Overall length is ten inches, and the blade is 6.5 inches long. oh yes, the scabbard and grip are blue leather, and the grip is double strand wire. Any idea what it might be worth? Thanks a million, Charlie

By makers mark you are using that in a generic way in that the name is a distributor of some sort and this mini was given as a gift \ advert for their company?

BTW could it not have been sharpened by the first owner since it could have been used as a letter opener?

            Cheers

I think it was sharpened recently because there is no patina on the sharpened part, and the sharpening marks are horizontal, like the modern steel rods leave. I think the writing on the blade is the mfg., but I do not know much about these. I may put it on e-stand, but I don't know what it is worth. I certainly don't want to over charge for it. Charlie

I got this out today and began using the 0000 wool to try to get the file marks off. The wool must not be harder than the blade, as the work is proceeding very slowly. I can't really see any difference, but the blade is definatly smoother, so I must be getting somewhere. Any ideas, anybody? Does anyone know if Breakfree is a rubbing compound of somesort, or an oil? It looks nice. How much is it worth again and how much did you buy it for? Is there any other one's?

I am still trying to find how much it's worth. I have seen one on this forum before, as well as SS, SA, and other miniature edged weapons. Mine is actually a letter opener, I believe. Charlie

                        Fine wool not much good

Well, Gene, I used fine grade steel wool, and though it smoothed out the scratched area, I can still see it. Any suggestions what I can try next? I have heard Maas is good. What exactly is it? Thanks, guys! Charlie

This blade was plated, just like the large size original, so it will never look exactly right unless it is plated again. I would suggest you contact Don Swanson of Columbia, MO. or see him at the MAX Show for his imput. He can restore blades better than any body I have met in the hobby.

                              I agree with Ron,

Don Swanson is da' Bomb when it comes to restoration work.

As for value, Tom Johnson's latest list has one in EXC+ condition for $795
