Strange ‘german’ frog

Hi guys,
Bought recently a very nice matching ASW43 bayonet. The bayonet was left behind in Holland in 1945 and never before in a collection. The seller got it from his granddad.
although the frog looks German, it is slightly different. It has no studs and no markings.
Does anybody recognize it?

It could be dress frog for KS98 bayonet, anyway it should be looked at hole for hook of scabbard. It looks like very large here?

indeed. Looks like a dress frog but it is rather rough in its configuration. Perhaps it belonged to an Forster dress bajo?

Some maker marked probably earlier Wehrmacht issue style frogs were made in Holland for the German Police. Could this be a local acquisition or leftovers/surplus? FP

This looks like a KS98 bayonet frog to me. I have a couple dozen almost identical ones. It was probably matched after the war or possible during the war, we will never really know.

opening looks very large, probably recuted, as mentioned could be used in Netherland, it looks like brown color, which is too untypical.

yes it is a strange bird, but as said, for sure with the bayonet since 1943-45..
With regard to the production of equipement in the Netherlands; J. deValk, Amsterdam is a well known producer.
Are there known examples of frogs produced in France or Belgium during '40-'44?

It might be a WW2 issue for a reissued M98/05

It remains when real a dress frog wout rivets, about S98/05 the hole is too big for this bayonet.

The Germans did make some new manufacture frogs for the S.98/05 during the war. Configured differently, the frog stud holes were smaller and they also had rivets. FP
