Looks like one of the Post War daggers put together for the GI's to purchase.

The papers are dated January 1946. That might verify the story.

Still not worth all that much.

I do not think the "Holler Berlin" TM was around in 46 or even made in Germany. I think the original poster is correct, it is a scam.

If someone know more about the Holler Berlin TM, I would like to know.

I agree with you Jim. I believe the Holler Berlin with defective thermometer is a 60's or later invention. Read about it somewhere, I think in one of Johnsons books. Besides, you would think that someone with a user ID of AllgemeinSS would know better. Looks like a good way to get rid of a repo.

The Holler daggers with a thermometer are one of the best repros ever made, and they were made in Spain by Marto, after original ones. They committed mistakes in the markings so that collectors could discern them.
Nowadays Marto's repros are a rarity and are also going up in price.
