    Marc,

Ron is absolutly correct about the fake police bayonet. I have seen this identical etching on other very convincing "parts" short police bayonets like this. They came out of Germany some years ago. I distinctly recall one on a real WKC blade in a shop in Nürnberg about ten or fifteen years ago. The fellow also had several of the other "old" reproductions such as the repop Luft General Off Degen, Diplomatic Degen, WSP dagger, etc. They have been around for some time and are convincing at first sight because they utilized old bits and pieces that had some age. As others have stated, this is a known fake (in its totality not just the etching) from the 1970s however. Sorry for the bad news.

      Marc,

I believe Ron is referring to two circular marks that can sometimesbe observed on the reverse of the crossguard.

Are you referring to ejector pin marks?

Exactly. If present, the marks we're talking about would be on either side of the blade. I don't see them, which is a good sign.

              Thanks for the photo!

Yes, the mold marks are not present, but the 220 number is much larger than I have seen and the fonts are not the same as I have seen on Eickhorn Government Officials.

PS: While the GO hangers appear to be original, all the bullion is off the surface.

fellows , are different pommels of the eickhorn-go's well known ? Perhaps the pic,but i have concerns about the lines lower the peak (mouth). All eickhorn i have seen are other.
