    Little frog question..

    Hello,

Maybe a stupid question but I was just looking at my K98 bayonet with frog, and saw that the frog is stamped with: L.L.G. Hessen 1935.

Never saw a frog dated so early.. Is this a rare thing?

    Kind Regards,
    Dennis

    Hello,

Not very, there are dated frogs from most years but yours is one of the earlier ones. There was a vary large expansion of the Army from 1935 and all the troops needed field equipment, including frogs. What is strange is how many of these early ones have survived given that they saw the whole period of conflict until 1945 (unless captured at some point).

    Still very nice though! Peter
