heer dagger question

hello all
i have an Eickhorn heer dagger which is one of my pride and joy daggers of my collection. the only problem is that the handle is a little loose. is there a way to tighten it up without damaging it?

There is a leather washer between the blade and inside hilt..


These usually get compressed causing the loose fit..
you can put somethig behind (cardboard) the leather a retighten it down to tighten it up..not too tight..

You can buy replacement original leather washers from Tom Johnson for a few bucks.Just keep the original as a spare with the dagger if you decide to sell it.

As George said,the washers compress and they also shrink as they dry out over time.
