It looks like somebody gutted a FF33 and built the components on top of the exchange. I guess is saves you having to hook up a separate FF33....

If it is a period modification is hard to say, the soldiers were certainly not allowed to make modifications to the equipment so I would lean towards a post war modification.

I do like the original unit names on the tag strip, that is a nice detail.

I would be tempted to restore it back to its original condition....

      regards,

      Funksammler

Moreover, the mod was made locally, the STE on the Induktor stands for Societé des Telephones Ericsson (Colombe, Paris).
Is there any maker tag on the switchboard itself?

          Hello le flibustier
I have a question about the induction coil

The STE : societe des telephones Ericsson a Colombes boulevard de finlande (great suburbs of paris)

This form of transformer has been used in the af of the fug10 circuit and ez4 and ez6

this induction coil is using and typical in telephone 43 (universal model 1943)
