Hi crew
I Have just bought a nice Sternantenne a, or a antennatop for the 8m Kurbelmast. (I decided that I will try to collect a complete KM8 with Sternantenne a for my Fu 9 se5 set)
I have made an agreement to buy or trade a groundplate for the KM8, and I have just been directed to a gentleman here in Norway, who has a KM8 for sale.
So sometimes during this spring, I think I will have the antenna set complete and in working order.
I know that these Sternantennen are proberbly not consithered as rare, but I do have a feeling that they are few and far between good original condition ones. The one that I got hold of, is in very good condition, with most of the original wartime paint intact.
Anyway, here are some pictures of my new antenna top.
First picture here is of the antenna folded up:
A couple of more detailed pictures of the assembly, and release mechanism:
The antenna is 1943 dated and waffenamtmarked:
The lower connection clamp is 1942 dated, and marked with factory name:
And here is the antenna folded out. The release mechanism vas very dry and dirty when I got it, but with a little oil and a cleaning cloth, everything loosend up and now it workes like a dream:
Here is a last, and more detailed pictures of the locking mechanism when the antenna is folded out:
I know that these antennas pop up for sale now and then, but I have not seen too many of them before.
I’d love to know more about these antennas, and to see pictures of other examples to compare with.
I hope you liked the pictures I posted here.
Best Regards
Björn
